Crafted by hand, the Shell Chaise is a playful yet demanding presence that explores a new way of thinking in regards turn of the century Victorian furniture. Torn down, re-built, and formed, each chaise is a unique functional art piece constructed from discarded Victorian era furniture.

 

Handcrafted in our Georgia, US studio, this chaise is crafted from a wood base. The piece is then sculpted with a complex gypsum, pulp, and epoxy mix. After curing, the chaise is sanded then a hand applied fiberglass layer coats the entire piece to add to durability and longevity. Finally, it is upholstered with custom 1" German mohair fabric.
