"2 figures embrace to seek solace from the world around them. As the viewer looks upon the piece, the figures and images behind the portholes are blurred. Causing the viewer to guess exactly what is behind the matte paned glass. The images behind are original negatives from queer men in the military from the 1940s and 1950s that were found in digital and physical archives.

This piece serves as a voice to share their stories as well as my own, growing up queer in deep Southwest Georgia. These men were forced to come up with their own language (Polari - where the title of the piece is from), ways to fit in with the world around them, and protection/safety from being thrown in jail or beaten and even killed for the people they loved.
